Sometimes I wonder why Ólafur Arnald's music is so beautiful. Why does he make sad music out of joy?
What are the ideas behind his peaceful music?
I believe that melacholic music makes me listen authentically. I can feel how I feel and be what I am and not how others expect me. Herein lies a treasure of hope that gradually brings Ólafur to light.
Manchmal frage ich mich, warum Ólafur Arnalds Musik so schön ist. Warum macht er aus Freude auch traurige Musik?
Welche Ideen stecken hinter seiner friedlichen Musik?
Ich glaube, dass melacholische Musik mich dazu bringt, authentisch zuzuhören. Ich kann fühlen, wie ich mich fühle und sein, was ich bin und nicht wie andere mich erwarten. Darin liegt ein Schatz der Hoffnung, der Ólafur allmählich ans Licht bringt.
